Unique Geek: Chapter 14

 Taylor was standing outside waiting for her boyfriend. He finally pulled up in his car. "There you are!" she exclaimed with slight agitation,"I was starting to get worried! Where have you been?"
 "I was caught in some traffic. No biggie, babe!"
 Taylor could be a bit clingy at times, but she was OK. She hopped into his car and left the school parking lot in a hurry. If they were going to hang out and get smoothies all before th huge Halloween party, they needed to hurry up.

 Zeke nervously walked up to Kathryn's front porch. After a few moments of hesitation, he swallowed his anxiety that was growing, and rang the door bell. He patiently waited, and sure enough, her mom opened the door.

 "Hello." she smiled.

 "Um, hi. Uh, is Kathryn here?" he felt like an idiot as he just stood there in his humiliating prince costume. Then, he saw her as she came down the stairs. She was dressed like a pirate, and she looked extremely cute.
 "Oh, hey, Zeke!"
 "H-Hi." He swallowed his nervousness and held his hand out to her,"Are you ready to leave?"
 "You bet!"

Justin sat with his back against the wall behind the punch table. He was not having any fun at all. He had hoped that maybe Jess had changed her mind and would come anyways, but she hadn't so far. He had specially worn the Pikachu costume they had made together. Well, he handed Jess the tools she needed, and she did the work. He sighed as he filled his cup yet again with punch.

 "Turn that frown upside down! Geez, it seriously feels like it's a different temperature around you."

 "Hey Car." he replied glumly.

 "Oh come on, Justin! Really? Even on Halloween?"

 He swished the red liquid in his cup,"Well if you don't like it then maybe you should have dressed as a car so people wouldn't think its weird." he looked up from his cup,"I'm sorry. I didn't mean that."

Caroline nodded then got a cup of punch for herself. "So she hasn't showed up?"

 His eyes widened in alarm,"How- How did you...?"

 She smiled slightly,"I can tell you like her."

 "But how-?"

 "Because I know you. I've known you since preschool, Justin." she laughed lightly,"Heck, I've been your neighbor for like, ever! You just always have this look you get when you're around her. It's like when you're with her, you can finally calm down." He stared at her with amazement. She smiled,"Good punch!" then she turned and left to talk to Taylor, Alice, and their dates. He watched her walk away with an astounded look on his face. He shook his head as if to clear his thoughts and then continued to watch the door in hopes that Jess MIGHT walk through them.
